UON boosts power in parliament precinct

Feb 2, 2023

Western Australia’s Parliamentary precinct is receiving a special power boost from UON with a UON SMART™ CELL supporting the works to complete the fit-out of the new purpose-built parliamentary office building.
Highlighting the flexibility of the UON SMART™ CELL, the installation is providing a power solution for contractor Everett Smith, to cover a shortfall in available network supply for periods of the project.
A 300 KVA UON Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) has been installed on the site to deliver up to 240kW of extra power for two-hour periods, according to the energy needs of the works on site during peak periods.
The grid connected solution allows the construction supply to then recharge the BESS when the available, with works drawing down against stored energy as needed.
UON SMART™ Solutions that are Scalable, Modular, Automated, Renewable and Temperature-controlled, enabling them to be adapted, expanded and integrated into any existing or new application both on and off-grid.
When completed, the four-storey office building is set to house more than 100 government workers, opposite the historic WA Parliament House, on the corner of Havelock St and Parliament Place.
UON delivers energy and water management infrastructure to support customers operational needs across industry, resources, remote communities and agriculture.
UON’s commitment to supporting clients is a promise represented by our name – we will keep yoU ON, we will keep you operational.
