UON’s support of the Tom Price Amateur Swimming Club has enabled the squads’ young swimmers to secure its place in D division for the 2024 County Pennants to be held in Kalgoorlie.
The club was able to send a team of 13 swimmers to compete in Country Pennants in Northam and their amazing performances in the pool amassed a strong 425 points, securing their spot for next year.
UON is proud to be able to continue to support the Tom Price swimmers in accessing the range of competitions throughout the year.
The continued growth across the swimming squad was highlighted with every one of the Tom Price swimmers coming away from Northam with at least one medal. The team certainly liked the Northam pool, gathering a final swag of 25 gold, 15 silver and 13 bronze medals, along with a combined total of 33 personal best times.
The theme for the March Past opening ceremony this year was “Legendary Teams” and the Tom Price swimmers proudly celebrated a team that they “couldn’t think of a more Legendary Team than all of you at UON”.
TPASC President Rosie Kapor said the squad paraded alongside 29 other clubs donning their UON sponsored uniforms and flying the UON flag proudly.
“We have so much gratitude for the assistance you have given our club to make this happen and we cannot thank you enough. Without your help we have families who would not have been able to attend and the team wouldn’t be looking so sharp in their new gear,” Rosie said.
