Supporting community organisations in the places we work, is an important part of UON’s commitment to local engagement.
Continuing our support for the Tom Price Amateur Swimming Club for the 2021/22 season has already helped local swimmers achieve to new levels in the pool.
In the first swim meet of the season in Carnarvon – The Gascoyne Open – the club recorded some great results. A team of 13 swimmers from the club participated in over 100 individual events, against clubs from across the Pilbara, Mid-West and Gascoyne regions.
The swimmers delivered:
– 59 Personal Best Times
– 24 Gold Medals
– 15 Silver Medals
– 17 Bronze Medals
One of the team achieve a State Qualifying time in the 50m Freestyle and several others were only milliseconds away from qualifying.
One of the club’s swimmers was awarded the Todd Hutton Memorial Trophy; a ‘swimmer of the meet’ accolade to the one who achieves the highest amount of personal best times.
The club heads to the Pilbara Championships in Karratha in the coming weeks.
