BACKGROUND
The Bellevue Gold Project is located approximately 30 km north of Leinster township and sits in a major gold and nickel producing district. The historic mine was closed and forgotten for over 20 years and has not benefited from modern exploration and advances in dewatering technology.

KEY SUCCESS
UON were tasked with delivering a dewatering solution for an old mine being reactivated, via an existing ventilation shaft. This required a custom shaft cap to be designed and fabricated to facilitate two 147 kW submersible pumps, installed to a depth of 290 m. Additional telemetry was provided to monitor multiple level sensing probes and to enable full remote access control.
