HSE ADVISOR

UON is the name for an experienced company that's been providing power generation, air compressors and water pumping solutions to industry since 1998. We provide the integration of modular products in one simplified process, from conception to hire or purchase to on-going support.

UON is currently seeking an experienced and motivated site HSE Advisor to join a project team on a 3:1 roster. 

Reporting into the HSEQ & Training Manager this role will be responsible for supporting the day to day requirements for our operations.

Key duties of this role includes;

  • Ensuring HSEQ compliance throughout project execution support the project management and team
  • Assist the teams to ensure compliance relating to High Risk work
  • Delivery of HSE communication; Prestarts, Toolbox and training
  • Manage the incident / injury investigation & reporting process on the site aligned to corporate
  • Ensure day to day HSE expectations are met
  • Ensure compliance with client and UON HSE policies, procedures and systems
  • Maintain HSE documentation and initiate continuous improvement as applicable
  • Provide accurate and quality HSE reporting as required; and
  • Provide coaching and mentoring of personnel

To be successful in this role you must have;

  • Good working knowledge of AS4801 and 9001
  • The ability to coordinate Drug & Alcohol Clinical Testing
  • Prior experience in Iron Ore
  • Experience in asbestos management
  • Minimum or equivalent of Cert IV ora Degree/Diploma qualified in OH&S
  • Experience in a similar position
  • Strong aptitude for HSE legislation
  • Professional communication techniques

SENIOR DESIGN DRAFTSPERSON 

UON is an experienced company that has been providing power generation, air compressors and water pumping solutions to industry since 1998. We provide the integration of modular products in one simplified process, from conception to hire or purchase to on-going support.

UON is seeking an experienced, dynamic, highly motivated Senior Design Drafts Person to immediately join the Quality & Engineering team.  As a third party contractor to major iron ore clients we are expected to delivery high quality work within tight and demanding timeframes.

This role is not for the faint hearted as you will be expected to hit the ground running. UON is looking for someone who wants to embed themselves within our tight nit team and dedicate themselves by striving to contribute to company successes.

You will be rewarded with an attractive remuneration package and given the opportunity to creatively contribute to our innovative designs and developing technology.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for;

  • Produce high level designs and drawings in AutoCAD both 2D & 3D
  • Provide technical drawings using routine CAD methods and techniques to UON and client requirements
  • Work closely with Project Managers to ensure Projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Review drawings from Engineers and drafting contractors for adherence to UON standards
  • Produce drawings for multiple disciplines
  • Work closely with other departments to produce drawings in line with client requirements
  • Manage and maintain project documentation and drawings register
  • Provide design / drafting and commissioning management for assigned projects
  • Ensuring standards, legislation and industry best practice is adhered to and continuous improvement within UON Quality & Engineering standards
  • Provide expert technical advice to internal and external UON stakeholders
  • Professional interaction with clients at all times ensuring positive working relationships are developed and maintained
  • Develop reports as required
  • Actively contribute to research and development initiatives  within UON
  • Undertake review of projects with the project department on completion of contractual agreements

To be successful in this role you must possess the following key requirements:

  • Minimum of an Advanced Diploma in Drafting
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with AutoCAD in both 2D & 3D design
  • Inventor experience would be highly desirable
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Experience in working with power generation, power stations, pumps, compressors and other UON products beneficial d
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Mechanical design with a minimum of 10 years' in a similar role
  • Strong and confident communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a term alongside multiple personalities
  • Civil design experience will be highly desirable although not essential
  • The ability to produce CAD conformance drawings to our clients standards
  • Experience in manufacturing design
  • An understanding of fabrication, mechanical and electrical installs
  • Experience within the mining and resources industry essential working with clients like BHP & Rio Tinto
  • Strong focus on fostering a positive HSE culture within the company
  • Professional communication skills
  • Proactive and positive 'can do' attitude
